We are in the middle of winter and that means it’s getting colder! Sometimes, it reaches dangerously cold and could freeze your skin.
Some kids have to have long walks to and from school and on somedays they are at risk at frost bite, or your skin freezing to the point where blood cannot circulate to places like your hands, feet, and ears. “It’s freezing! Especially when I have to wait at the crosswalk.” Says Lance, 7th grade.
If you are outside for too long in these dangerous temperatures, the previously mentioned body parts will stop working and may have to get amputated.
So I suggest riding the bus or having an adult take you to school, and wearing a winter coat so you don’t get hurt.
